Co Antrim Garden, Northern Ireland

This is the journal of my endeavours to grow a range of fruit, veg & flowers from seed, grow organically, and my attempts to create an outdoor personal paradise with 1/2 acre of maintained gardens and 1/2 acre of wild meadows.

Shrubs thru Ivy Tunnel

Please note this site is no longer active. My updated blog is:

Left: Photos are a good way to see your garden from a different perspective! I was looking at this photo thinking this area has alot of green but lacks colour. The pink heather provides a little late summer/ autumn colour; the calendula self seed and provide yellow flowers but I definitely need more wow factor! (A bit of a project to work on.)
Plants pictured:
Variegated Ivy, Ornamental grass, Calendula annual flowers, Box hedge, Heather (pink), Harry lauder's walking stick, palm trees.

  1. Taking photos always helps to see that which somehow had escaped our eyes before. I do it a lot with my painting and am always amazed how I could miss certain things that were so obvious once I took a photo.

  2. Hello Kelli!
What a BEAUTIFUL garden you have...it's very lush and green. If you ever experienced gardening in Kansas you'd understand why I LOVE the green ;) I think it looks great just the way it is but I do understand what you mean...you have to look at it with an artists eye. I hope you have other photo's of this 'Harry Lauder's walking stick....I'd like to see that! Love the name :) I'm going to have fun looking around your blog. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a message...I love Ireland and so does my husband. We've never been there but that's a dream for the future. Have a wonderful day!
    Maura :)
